Hey y'all!
Nov. 10th, 2004 10:41 pmA slightly tipsy post with several purposes, meant for several audiences.
First: Someone out there has been assigned me as their yuletide story recipient (side note: Aaah! I have no idea how to write what I need to for my recipient! What the hell was I thinking? I can't do this!). To that person, I say, "Ciao!" I feel like I ought to make it possible for you to figure out what I like, but it's a bit tricky since I tend to friendslock my fanfiction-related posts.
A few of my favorite fanfiction authors are Speranza, Resonant, Pandarus, Jenn, umm... aw hell, that's good enough. Not that it has to be anything like those, I'll be grateful regardless. So long as you know phase from faze (that's a joke; I'll adore it no matter what).
Second: I'm still here. School is hard, although math is not. Actually, school is hard because they want me to be all personal in my essays, and meanwhile I'm all hey, I'm almost thirty and pretty committed to my privacy. Also, there's just not enough time in the day for work, school, tutoring, class observation, and therapy. Plus my root canal's not finished. Anyway, I'm exhausted, but my eye is firmly on the goal: corrupting the minds of young children through math. Mwahahahaaaa...
Third: So I'm reading an essay comparing Draco Malfoy and Lord Peter Wimsey, which is wicked cool (I love fandom), but I just realized -- to me, the interesting things fanfiction writers bring out and play with about Draco (a hypothesized future Draco, that is) are essentially the ones that interest me about Lex Luthor.
Ah, Lex. You poor misunderstood pretty bald head. This one's for you. Glass of cheap wine, that is. Nah, never mind, you wouldn't appreciate it -- this one's for me.
