Friend in the hospital (those in the need-to-know category either know the details or should know and can be reassured by my flippancy -- this is not life-threatening), wasted evening trying to pick up something that wasn't there, and an unexpected bill for a couple hundred dollars for something I already paid for...

and to top it all off I finally finished a fanfic series I'd been reading for days (it had oh-so-many parts) and the hero died! Dammit, this is not my day! Sniff!
