Quel jour (pardon my atrocious French)

Started off my day (at a time earlier than I'm usually even awake) with yet another dentist's appointment. Which wasn't all that bad, as it resulted in the final two cavities taken care of and the revelation (via the supervising instructor, who proved quite impressed by my having Neal Stephenson's Quicksilver, or for that matter any book at all, on my lap during my appointment) that mercury amalgamates with every metal except one (any guesses?*).

Life is fearsome random, but sometimes marvelous so.

* From those who do not have a degree in chemistry, that is.
