Patience and luck

The friend is out of the hospital; the thing I was trying to pick up was a towed car, which of course explains my worry when it wasn't where it was meant to be, but as it turns out it wasn't towed in the first place; the bill (an extra $225 for a dental procedure which I had already paid $150 for and been pissed because I thought it would be covered by an agreement which... this gets long and complicated) is almost certainly going to be taken care of by the parenthetically-mentioned agreement.
The hero of that story remains dead, but I've moved on to other things.
Also, I left the house for fun and socialization twice last week.
Basically, things have returned to their usual frantic-but-on-the-whole-good state. Which, of course, doesn't mean I won't bitch about stuff -- who would I be did I not bitch? But the fact is, my life is pretty good and I'm quite lucky in many things, including friends, and I'd like to clarify that I do appreciate it. Now if only there were magically-appearing coffee.
